The Hot Rock series is the latest release from Rockschool.  It features specially edited classic and modern rock tracks that can be used for Rockschool’s grade exams.

All the fully transcribed versions of the tracks can be used in the performance units of GCSE’s, A Levels and other public exams.

There are eight classic and contemporary rock tracks featured in every book. The first half of the book contains sections from the songs specially for use in a Rockschool Grade 2 exam.  Before every song transcription there is a breakdown of the history of the band and track, giving you greater insight when playing it.  There is also some technical help to aid you in the learning process.

The second half of the book contains original transcriptions (played by the rockschool musicians) of the eight songs along with a technical guide for playing tracks in higher level exams. These tracks can also be used as performance pieces in Creative and Media Diploma units.

CD1 contains full mixes and backing tracks of the edited pieces, both with and without clicks, that can be used in Rockschool Grade 2 Drum exams,

CD2 contains full transcriptions with backing tracks for you to play along to.

Rockschool grades are accredited by the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA).
