Tim's Q & A

Whahabeen the best gig you have played?

I have played a few random gigs in the past, one being on a friends front lawn where the kit had to be set up sideways to fit on the garden path. Another was getting a phone call on a friday evening asking if I could fill in for a drummer who had fallen ill, had to learn 30 songs in a morning and then play in the evening! But I suppose the best was probably the Christmas concerts at college where everybody was up for a bit of fun and in the Christmas spirit!

Who are your favourite drummers?

I have a few! Vinnie Colaiuta for his technique and versatility. His man has played everything from Jazz to Heavy Metal. John Blackwell Jr. and Steve Jordan for their great grooves and Aaron Spears for his ridiculous and still awesome 'chops' in Caught up!

What's has been your most embarrassing moment while drumming?

Probably the most embarrassing moment for me was playing at a function gig and counting the band in 5 beats. We all started, stopped, tried again, same thing happened and then I realised what I was doing.... so try not to lose concentration!

What song do you most love to play along to?

Either 'September' by Earth, Wind and Fire or 'Relight my fire' by Take That... going though a bit of a Disco phase at the moment it seems!

What would be your perfect gig?

My perfect gig? One where I get just to jam to some of my favourite musicians, including other drummers! Wouldn't even matter if there was no audience there!
