Samba Drumming Workshops

The Drumming Solutions team can provide Samba Drumming workshops at your school, business, church or youth group. Samba drumming is a very accessible form of music for any age and any ability, as these exiting rhythms are easy to learn and play.
The aims and goals of the workshops are to encourage team building, creativity, listening and communication skills to enable you to get the best out of your work force or to simply create new relationships.  But best of all it’s a whole lot of fun.

Why have a Workshop?
Drumming and rhythms have always been at the forefront of battles and war.  The military often use drums to declare their intentions and let enemies know how powerful they are.  It is used to boost soldiers confidence and moral.  For centuries tribes have used rhythms to communicate with those around them.  It is a great international language that anyone can understand.  Drumming also brings together communities in celebrations to encourage and energise those around them.
The workshops are a great way of developing communication, teamwork and leadership skills, all great keys to personnel development.  It is also great fun and an excellent introduction into the music of other cultures.

Who runs the Workshop?
The workshops are taken by the Drumming Solutions tutors Mark Hibbert, Rhys Thomas and Tim White.  All are CRB checked and fully trained experienced workshop leaders having led a wide variety of workshops at carnivals, schools, businesses and youth groups.  They will work individually or together as a team to provide your group or workforce with a great experience.

What Happens during the Workshop?

You will be taught amazing Brazilian rhythms that will give you an excellent insight into the culture.  And by the end of the workshop you will be able to complete a performance involving the native rhythms you have learnt including call and response which can be recorded for no extra charge.  You will be taught how to lead your own band and then for those brave enough to step up to the challenge, there will be the opportunity to lead your band in front of others.

The workshops can involve up to anywhere from 5 people to 50 or more with all the instruments needed to create that unique sound and atmosphere.  All the instruments provided are easy for any ability to use and play.
